Project Management Mentoring

Project Management Mentoring

When I was cutting my teeth as a new project manager, I was constantly making things up and trying to do what I thiught I needed to do. I didn't have much for training and was focusing on what I thought were the right things. I was lucky because the projects I was managing were small and didn't a whole lot of complexity. I was also able to leverage my technical development background and make up for my lack of project management expertise and experience. I would have loved to have a project management mentor to help me do the right things at the right time. I would suggest that most companies team experienced project mangers with junior project managers. this will help spread the wealth of knowledge to those who have just entered the profession.

And it will help ensure their project are successful as well.
